One of our favorite nights of the year is Members Night at the Academy, when you can go “behind the scenes” to meet the scientists and see their work!

The scientists showed the steps to take in identifying different types of seaweed.

The botany department is working to digitize their vast collection to assist researchers worldwide. The digital herbarium can be used to understand changes in plant diversity and location over the last hundred years.

The ornithology collection also assists researchers worldwide to understand changes in diversity and location over time.

Posters are used by scientists to communicate their research summaries. Fun to see the different research subjects on the walls, and hear scientists explain them!
